Chiropractic care is a manual, hands on approach to muscle, nerve and joint conditions. Chiropractors are considered the experts in the treatment of low back pain, neck pain and headaches. We use our hands to perform precise, gentle spinal adjustments and adjustments of other joints of the body to restore normal range of motion, improve balance and agility and decrease discomfort. Although patients may seek out chiropractic care when they are in pain, many return for supportive chiro care when they experience improved performance at athletic events or a decrease in stress and strain on their body at work.

In addition to manual therapy, the chiropractors at Back to Health may recommend adjunctive therapies to treat certain conditions or to amplify the positive effects of the adjustment. These therapies may include soft tissue therapy, laser therapy and/or acupuncture. In almost every case, patients leave the clinic with specific home measures they can do in between treatments. All practitioners at Back to Health believe strongly in educating their clients on how to take care of their bodies through simple (but not always easy!) diet and exercise instruction.

Our doctors understand that each patient is unique and has different goals and lifestyle considerations when they customize a treatment plan. Therefore, specific chiropractic care recommendations for your care can differ depending on a variety of factors including: workplace demands, athletic endeavors, age, and previous injuries.

Massage therapy is the hands on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to body tissues. It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility, and helps clear lactic acid and other waste which reduces pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. Registered massage therapy treatment enhances the client’s overall physical well-being by reducing soft tissue discomfort associated with stress, muscular over use, and chronic pain syndromes.

Whether young or old, healthy or sick, everyone can benefit from massage therapy and visiting a registered massage therapist. Athletes use massage therapy for its preventative effects both before and after training or competition. Others visit a registered massage therapist to help them recover from illness, injury or stress.

Massage therapy by a registered massage therapist benefits people of all ages. While it benefits the injured, the ill and the stressed, the real strength of registered massage therapy lies in prevention. As a 15 year veteran Registered Massage therapist, I have had the pleasure of working with an outstanding team of professionals at the Back to Health Clinic. My experiences have been many. I have worked with a vast cross section of our community. I have worked with clients with a wide variety of conditions. Some of which include work place injuries, motor vehicle accidents, acute and chronic musculo-skeletal pain conditions as well as sports related issues. Some of my favorite experiences have been working with amateur and professional athletes. In the last few years I have had the opportunity of working with some major shows at Budweiser Gardens, including Riverdance, Cirque Du Soleil Quidam, and most recently the Cirque Michael Jackson show. What an amazing experience to work with Olympians and performers at the highest levels. It is truly gratifying to help performers of this calibre. But the best part of my job, is working with my regular clients. Whether it’s treating them for an injury, or maintenance treatments, knowing that my work helps improve the quality of their lives, is a very gratifying feeling.

The best part about my job is to watch a patient return to the activities they love after an injury or condition has left them without proper joint and muscle function. My goal is to give people customized care that allows them to start moving and taking part in family, recreational and work related activities again.

After completing an honours degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa, I continued my studies at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and graduated in 2004. A move to London in 2009 brought me to Back to Health and I have had the privilege to treat so many wonderful people and offer not only chiropractic care, but also acupuncture, laser therapy and myofascial release therapy.

As a mother of two very active little boys I am particularly busy treating other women who are active and fit as well as pregnant women who want to maintain a healthy spine and a high activity level throughout their pregnancy. In addition to my career as a Chiropractor, I am also a certified STOTT Pilates instructor and I use these exercise principles everyday to help patients regain their strength and postural alignment. I am passionate about Pilates and you can find me teaching group classes at Create Balance Pilates Studio.

My passion for health and wellness began at a young age when I was competing in track and field. I sought out massage therapy and chiropractic care in order to feel my best and perform optimally. I became fascinated with human anatomy which translated into a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at the University of Windsor. Continuing my curiosity in all avenues of well-being, I attended the Transformational Arts College in Toronto to study a wide range of holistic and spiritual modalities including Reiki, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. This allowed me to further understand how connected the body, mind and spirit are. It was a natural progression to massage therapy and I graduated from the Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in 2018. It brings me great joy to assist my patients along their healing journey. The focus of my treatments is to reduce stress and increase feelings of relaxation and well-being. When your body and mind are in a stressful state, any kind of pain or discomfort felt in the tissues – whether by injury, overuse or postural imbalances - can decrease or disrupt your body’s natural healing abilities. Through soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, stretching, trigger point therapy and deep tissue work, my goal is to aid your body and mind to relax, encouraging healing on all levels. As we are all uniquely designed, treatments are created based on your individual needs and personal goals. My hope is to assist everyone I treat to get back to their daily activities feeling stress free, pain free and with greater mobility. Swedish Deep Tissue Hot Stones Reiki Aromatherapy
